Children’s Fencing Classes

Classes for children of all ages and abilities from 5-16 years old.

We emphasise learning through fun! Our after-school and Saturday morning lessons take a holistic approach so children can grow week to week. Classes focus on an engaging combination of coach-led learning and team-based games to create an engaging environment for children to develop.

We provide fencing equipment for all our beginners, you’ll just need to wear suitable sports clothes and non-marking trainers.

5-7 Years

Tuesdays 6pm, Thursdays 6pm

The start of your fencing journey! Our classes are packed with fun activities to help children improve the key skills needed for all sports. These include the ABCs: agility, balance and coordination as well as a focus on developing listening and teamwork. Children use plastic and foam Mini-Fence equipment, specially designed for young children, to ensure they’re safe at all times in our classes.

8-12 Years

Tuesdays 6pm, Wednesdays 6pm, Thursdays 6pm

Classes improving the footwork and blade techniques (don't worry parents, fencing swords aren’t sharp!). Children will be taught basic fencing tactics in a safe and structured environment, whilst being given the freedom to experiment further during themed games. Beginners are given all the tools and knowledge to get them playing the game quickly.

Teens 13+

Wednesdays 6pm

Fencing coaching designed with teens in mind, which provide fitness, learning and social opportunities. Beginners are given all the tools and knowledge to get them playing the game quickly. Experienced players will work on advanced techniques and tactical awareness. We follow a games-based approach intended to keep teens interested and keep them playing in future whilst improving their technique.
